The Foundation organised a three-day exhibition on the theme 'Nurture Nature' in Bengaluru. The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Shri Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Director General, Power Foundation of India, and Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited. The aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness about responsible consumption of energy.
Leading public sector enterprises in the power sector, including NTPC, REC, PFC, POWERGRID, NHPC, IREDA, SJVN, BBMB, CPRI, and BEE, had set up their pavilions to spread the message of sustainable living. The exhibition comprised several interactive activities to create awareness on responsible consumption of resources, especially energy resources, and conservation.
The event included a session on 'Energy Efficiency, Industry Low Carbon Transition, and Responsible Consumption’, chaired by Shri Alok Kumar, the then Secretary, Power, Government of India.
A major attraction at the exhibition was the experiential centre, which included several interactive installations. The experience centre showcased themes such as energy production and consumption, conservation of energy, environment, energy security, and health & energy.
Several NGOs dedicated to empowering underprivileged women, also set up stalls at the event. They showcased a range of products made from recyclable materials, including handmade household items, groceries, sarees, dresses, and jute bags. Overall, the exhibition saw a significant turnout from youth and students who enthusiastically participated in the activities.
